As the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) approaches, Cactus’ collection of brands prepare to capitalize on the festivities with the help of Ranch House Designs. After 2020’s circumstances caused the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) to be held in Texas, the event is back in the Las Vegas, where it has been held since 1985. According to Cactus marketing coordinator Katie Rice, the events’ return to Las Vegas brings back a familiarity and rhythm.
“Last year was kind of a shot in the dark because of COVID and it was in Texas,” Rice said, “You know what to expect in Vegas.”
With the help of Ranch House Designs, Cactus Ropes, Saddlery and Gear will be debuting a new booth design.
“This is the first time in six or seven years we’ve had a new booth design so we’re excited about that,” Rice said.
New Faces
Cactus Saddlery has welcomed a new endorsee to their lineup too. Steer Wrestler Tristan Martin of Sulphur, Louisiana is making his first appearance at the NFR and will be competing as a Cactus Saddlery team member.
Another Cactus endorsee is team roping heeler Logan Medlin. Medlin’s horse Nita Win Playboy was recently as the Nutrena Heel Horse of the Year.
“It’s a pretty big award to get. All your fellow competitors vote on it,” Rice said.
Martin and Medlin are pictured on a Cactus-branded calendar RHD designed. According to Rice, the calendars will be given out at signings for fans to enjoy all year.
NFR and More
The Cactus booth will have rotating sales throughout the NFR, with new products making their debut.
Through their partnership with 26-time World Champion Trevor Brazile, Cactus Ropes created the Future rope. For two years, the rope has been wildly popular.
“This year we’re letting out two new variations of the Future. They’re called the Future Lite and the Future All Around. Those will be available at the NFR and we’re pretty excited about that,” Rice said.
The NFR isn’t the only thing on Cactus’s radar, though. Across town, the World Series Team Roping will be taking over the South Point Hotel and Casino December 4-11.
“Any contestants there get a goodie bag full of coupon codes and stuff like that. That whole sector gets something special,” Rice said.
Cactus Saddlery produces the World Champion saddles for both the NFR and World Series Team Roping, demonstrating their commitment to the rodeo industry.
Team Players
According to Rice, RHD is very accommodating to the last-minute requests that come with producing NFR materials.
“Working with them is great. They make my job ten times easier. As a one-man-band marketing department to just be able to email them and get what I need is great. Their work is quality and it’s nice they’re a one stop shop for printing and shipping things out,” Rice said.
