We offer seasonal internships year-round at RHD. We offer two internships per semester. One is a social media / digital content internship and the other is a sales internship.
Our internship dates are:
Fall intern: Approximately September 5 through December 10 – Applications due July 15th
- Help with coordinating RHD fall educational workshop
- Help with coordinating BRC Fall Brahman Days event / party
Spring Intern: Approximately January 10 through May 10 – Applications due October 15th
- Will also assist with activities during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
Summer Intern: Approximately May 15 to August 15 – Applications due February 15th
- Will assist with organizing and promoting the RHD fall workshop (choosing speakers, organizing event)
LOCATION: Position is based in Wharton Texas. Housing will be provided.
Social Media / Digital Content Internship Information
Compensation: $1250 per month. Housing will be provided at no cost.
HOURS: Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. to noon.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create Facebook content for approximately 30 clients monthly social media posts, proof to client, and schedule on Facebook and Instagram.
- Create content and oversee RHD’s company Facebook and Instagram accounts.
- Assist with social media promotion of BRC’s Farm to Table Store: The Ranch Downtown
- Working with graphic designers to create social media graphics when needed
- Write 1 blog per month for the RHD website
- Write other blogs if needed for clients
- Create and schedule email blasts
- Come up with unique and catchy content for clients to help their pages engagement
Sales Internship Information
Compensation: $1000 per month plus 10% commission on projects booked. Housing will be provided at no cost.
HOURS: Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. to noon.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer phone calls regarding sales inquiries about RHD Services
- Respond to email inquiries about RHD services
- Conduct phone calls with prospective clients of RHD
- Follow up with sales prospects
- Help create social media content to help with sales
FOR BOTH INTERNSHIPS:
REQUIRED SOFTWARE SKILLS:
- Google Docs / Sheets (similar to Word/Excel)
- Calendly / Calendar (Apple Calendar / iPhone Calendar)
- Competent in web browsers and Google
- Interns will receive training in Basecamp (our project management software) and Quickbooks
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required
- Recent college graduates are welcome to apply
- Must pass criminal background check
- No smoking / drug free workplace
- Familiarity with agriculture, cattle ranching, or farm to table business preferred
