We survived cattle sale pictures (and stayed married!)

Ranch House Designs, Inc.RHD Blog

This past week, all of us at BRC Ranch had the “joy” of picturing our sale cattle for the upcoming BRC Ranch sale in October.  For anyone who’s ever taken on this challenge, I don’t have to say anything further. You know.  But for those on this list who aren’t doing cattle sale pictures, picture this:

90+ degree heat,
dust in the air,
recently halterbroke show heifers who may or may not do what you ask them to do,
and a husband-and-wife duo working side by side all day.
I’ll add, husband barking out orders. (I mean that in the nicest way ha ha ha).

If you’ve ever worked with your spouse, you know…that can be a recipe for fireworks.

Thank goodness for the BRC team of Lyn and Harley and Ishy who can serve as buffers and keep the mood light.

But here’s the good news: we survived picture day—sweat, dirt, stubborn cattle and all—and we didn’t even get into a fight! (Miracles happen.) In fact, we even had a little fun along the way.

Brandon has this funny way of “attention getting” for the sale cattle and it often involves him dancing or jumping up and down and, it’s so intriguing I find myself staring at him just as much as the heifers are ha ha ha.

Days like these are the beauty and the challenge of a family business.

It’s messy, it’s intense, but it’s also one of the greatest blessings—because you’re building something together. And truth be told, branding your business or building that new website can feel the same way. It’s exciting, sometimes stressful, and you may not always see eye-to-eye with your team.  And the WORST, when your working on the computer and your spouse wants to look over your shoulder and critique everything you do as you do it.

That’s where we come in.

At Ranch House Designs, we help family businesses (just like ours!) turn their ideas into branding, websites, and marketing that everyone can be proud of—without the arguments. Think of us as your neutral third party that keeps things on track and makes the end product shine. So whether you’re starting fresh, need a new website, or want to polish up your brand—we’re here to make the process a little less sweaty and a lot more fun.Ready to tackle your next marketing project?
