3 Things COVID Has Taught Us About Marketing

Rachel CutrerRHD Blog, Website Design Features

So we are months into dealing with marketing livestock and agricultural products during COVID, and here at Ranch House Designs, we’ve definitely seen a lot of changes over the last few months. We’d like to share some of the things we’ve learned about ‘marketing during the pandemic’ and some tips our customers and readers might want to implement.

3 Post Pandemic Marketing Trends

.

1. E-Commerce Over Physical Retail

When is the last time you went to a shopping mall? For most people, it’s been over 5 months. That means, e-commerce is growing by leaps and bounds. Online shopping is overtaking brick and mortar shopping.

What does that mean for you? Well, if you have a product to sell, it’s time to get an online store. Your boutique, store, farm to table brand and more can market to the world through e-commerce. And RHD can make it simple for you.

Here at Ranch House, we use Shopify as our preferred e-commerce portal. While Shopify is pretty easy to use, you might still want a professional touch and that’s where we can help. We offer options including setting up your store from scratch OR maybe you’ve tried to setup your own Shopify store, and you’ve done pretty good – but you need a professional’s touch just to help you with a few details. We can do that too.

Here are a few examples of what RHD can do for your e-commerce website:

2. Purebred Cattle Sales are Holding Strong, and a Solid Digital Advertising Program is Crucial for This

In my own cattle operation, we actually had our best cattle sale to date in mid-May, right in the middle of the pandemic. How’d we do it? A solid digital marketing program, a good email marketing program, and excellent photos and videos of our cattle so that buyers could “see” everything they needed to see and “know” everything they needed to know to be able to make their purchase.

Is your website sale ready? Maybe you have all the components of your sale — catalog, website, email — but need help piecing them all together. Ranch House Designs can build a strong marketing plan for your online fall sale by:

  • Ensuring sale information is on your website home page
  • Designing a page that highlights cattle for sale
  • Promoting your catalog through a catalog request form
  • Advertising your sale through email blasts
  • Collaborating on a social media plan that puts your advertising dollars to work
  • Fulfilling your catalog requests by email

Why stress about your online sale? Let Ranch House Designs take care of your website to make this year’s sale your most successful one yet. Marketing an online sale doesn’t have to be hard when you work with Ranch House Designs.

We are offering a special in August that we are providing your first quarter free on new websites booked by August 31, 2020.

3. Holidays and Events Will Still Be Important

People are craving to get back to “normal” in terms of retail shopping, holidays, and events. Just look at how entries have reached all time highs at Junior Nationals this summer! Research shows the travel industry expects to rebound by Thanksgiving, and 1/3 of Americans say they hope to travel within 3 months of any travel bans being lifted. That means the 4th Quarter is going to be BIG! Now is the time to start working on your marketing plans and preparation for the 4th Quarter, and we are here to help!!
