5 Ways to Stand Out At The NWSS

rhdRHD Blog

For six years now, Ranch House Designs has headed to the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO to host a livestock marketing workshop. One of our pillars at RHD is developing and educating future agri-marketing professionals and this workshop allows us to do exactly that.

We love heading to Denver, seeing our friends, meeting new people, and getting to share some marketing tips with the best in the business.

Traveling to Denver can be a little overwhelming for some though, and we totally get it. This year, we’ve pulled together a list to help you stand out and make the most of your time at the NSWW.

Generate excitement before you ever travel to Denver.

Generating excitement about your livestock and business before you ever arrive to Denver is critical. Whether it’s through social media engagement, sending out email blasts, or putting ads in your favorite publication, letting people know to be looking for you while there will increase your awareness.

Be creative and eye-catching.

Your display can make or break you. As people are walking past your display, they’re going to make a split-second decision on whether they’ll stop or not and 90% of that decision is going to be based on your display.

Creat a consistent brand presense.

With your display, social media presence, print advertisements, and everything else, you must be consistent with your brand. Consistent branding is important for all marketing, make it easy on your audience to find you and know who you are.

Have a strong social media plan.

Your social media plan is one of the most important tools to bring with you at a show. Gone are the days of waiting to hit the grounds before you see the latest display bull and their respective banners, the sale calf whose picture you loved in the catalog, or the latest livestock show products. Now, before we even get there we already are making a mental list of what are the must stops. If you aren’t on social media drawing attention to your product you are falling behind.

Have an end goal.

Maybe you don’t have something for sale right now. That’s okay—marketing is not the same at every show for every person. Your end goal can range from selling semen shares to customer satisfaction and relations. No matter what your goal is for Denver it’s important to identify it and then maximize your potential to achieve it.
