Kelley Genetics was built on generations of hard work, family values, and a deep-rooted passion for agriculture. J.P. Kelley grew up in Rehobeth, Alabama, where farming wasn’t just an occupation—it was a way of life. After helping his father in the fields from an early age, J.P. took over the family’s cattle herd in 2009. In 2011, J.P. and his wife, Linda, purchased their first Beefmasters, marking the beginning of a program that has steadily grown alongside their family. In 2023, longtime family friend Carey Slay joined the operation to form Kelley Genetics, LLC, bringing a shared commitment to blending tradition with progressive genetics and modern feeding practices. With strong facilities, a newly completed feed efficiency test site, and a focus on continuous improvement, Kelley Genetics is dedicated to raising high-quality Beefmasters while building lasting relationships with commercial cattlemen and purebred breeders across the region.
