WordPress vs. Weebly or Wix

Kerbe FordRHD Blog

As we have talked about on the Blog before, building websites is something we take seriously – and one of our biggest areas of business at Ranch House Designs. We strive to help our clients enhance their marketing with a strong online presence, while keeping each clients specific business in mind and creating a unique website for each of them. You can check out our Website Gallery, here, to see some of the fun designs we have been working on so far this year!

In today’s world, you have options when it comes to building a website. WordPress – Weebly – Wix? Which should you have built for your business, and why. Many people do not realize what a difference the three have when it comes to getting your website in front of customers, keeping it modern, updating your website on the go, and staying ahead in such a competitive marketplace.

Today, we will be addressing the differences between WordPress, Weebly, and Wix. Any of the options are great – but one of them really stand out from the others. If you are familiar with RHD, you know that building websites is something we live for! Personally, we use the WordPress platform. In this post, we will tell you exactly why that is and point out some of the major differences between the platforms.

Weebly – Simple, Modern and Attractive
PROS: Weebly ranks fairly high in the lineup when it comes to its user-friendly platform. Many users really like the fact that it is straightforward and provides options for modern and sleek design themes to work from.
Weebly also offers a few app and plugin options and free hosting.

CONS: It’s not the fastest. Have you ever gone to a website only to sit there for 30 minutes while it is trying to load? Not cool! In addition, there is no mobile editor. WHAT? In today’s world, everyone, (and we mean everyone), is on their phones. If you are away from your computer, you would not be able to make quick adjustments to your website. To finish it off, Weebly also lacks customization. Is it really worth it to have a website that looks exactly like the next persons (including your competitors).
Wix – Customizable and Easy to Use
PROS: Wix is known for offering over 500 template designs to work from. They also have an easy-to-use drag and drop system within their site builder that most users find to be a major plus. It is an easy way to make your website stand out from others. Wix also offers free hosting, email integration, and blogging features – to name a few.

CONS: Wix does not have a Live Chat feature. Say you are updating your website urgently, have a question or a problem arises – what do you do? Well, it might not be that easy to get a hold of someone to help you out! Wix also does not allow website transfer. Meaning, if you ever wanted to transfer or export the websites data from one platform to another, that feature is prohibited. Something to seriously consider when it comes to the long-run and what is best for you business!

WordPress – Most sustainable in the long haul
PROS: Did you know that there are thousands of plugins available for WordPress users? Maps, custom calendars, dealer locators – you name it! WordPress allows its users the option to add different types of plugins and features that make newer websites stand out amongst ay other format. Live Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds are also big hit with RHD customers!

Not only that, but WordPress is also 100% customizable. Every single website built within the WordPress platform is one of a kind. WordPress ranks highest in popularity and is loved by, well, most of the internet! The design themes are super flexible and allow tons of customizable features, add-on’s, and support.

Another reason we love WordPress at RHD is that updates can be taken care of right fast and in a hurry! We take great pride in offering our customers a 3-day guarantee on updates. Most of those updates being completed SAME day!!!

CONS: Though some people find that the WordPress platform might not be the most user-friendly, that is where we come in! RHD handles all of the backend work for our clients. We design and build each website from scratch, make the updates, and offer training courses to help you learn how to make those updates yourself as well, should you wish to learn!

WINNER: WordPress, hands down! In our eyes, there is no other option! We strive to give our clients a unique, personalized online presence with top of the line website designs. If you are in the market for a new website, fill out our Request a Quote form here to get started.
